The Institute of Science Tokyo - science & engineering / Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech)
Tokyo, Tokyo / Yokohama, Kanagawa
Institute of Science Tokyo (“Science Tokyo”) will be formed on October 1, 2024, following the integration of Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Tokyo Institute of Technology, both of which have a rich history, aiming to encompass the field of science, engineering, medicine, dentistry, and nursing. Within the science and engineering fields, there are approximately 10,500 students at the Ookayama, Suzukakedai, and Tamachi Campuses, half are in their bachelor's degree program while the other half are in master's and doctoral degree programs. International students form an integral part of our community, consisting of approximately 17% of total students. There are approximately 1,000 faculty (full-time) members and 600 administrative and technical staff. Science and engineering fields are comprised of 6 Schools (Science, Engineering, Material and Chemical Technology, Computing, Life Science and Technology, and Environment and Society). 7 interdisciplinary graduate majors are provided to meet the topics that span multiple schools or departments. Science Tokyo has been delivering outstanding research findings with global impact. In the medium to long term, we aim to lead in the priority research fields, i.e., next-generation element strategy, integrated energy science, and digital society devices and systems.
